Insurance for your individual needs.

Individual medical coverage is available through several companies in Washington.  Individual coverage is appropriate for self-employed individuals, dependents, those not qualifying for coverage under their parent’s plan, recently unemployed, etc. There are several benefit plans available to individuals, including various deductibles and various co-insurance levels.  There are plans for catastrophic coverage, generally with high deductibles and some high deductible plans qualify as HSA plans. You can request an individual quote by completing the online form to the left.  Or, you can click on Regence (for Western Washington), Asuris (for Eastern Washington) or on the LifeWise banner and get a quote or apply for coverage yourself.

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) Provide Tax Advantages and Reduced Costs

A Health Savings Account is an account owned by an individual where the contributions to the account (up to a maximum allowable amount) are tax deductible and the funds may be used without tax consequence to pay for eligible medical expenses.  The HSA is comprised of two pieces – a qualified high deductible health plan, and an approved HSA account, generally with an HSA administration company. Association Benefits Corporation recommends American Health Value for administration of your HSA.  American Health Value is the first independent HSA administrator in the nation.  To get more information on HSA’s and on American Health Value, go to www.americanhealthvalue.com.

Medicare Supplements (Medigap), MedAdvantage Plans and Medicare Prescription Plans

If you are currently or soon eligible for Medicare, you should know that Medicare does not cover all health care bills and that many services have deductibles and co-payments.  Plans available to cover most of these costs that Medicare does not cover are:

  • Medicare Supplements (Medigap) – Plans A thru L provide gap coverage but none of these plans cover prescriptions.

  • Medicare Part D – These plans cover prescriptions and can be purchased along with a Medigap plan or a Medicare Advantage (MedAdvantage) plan.

  • MedAdvantage Plans – these plans are provided through insurance companies and include Medicare Part A (Hospital) and Part B (Medical) benefits and usually include several additional benefits.

There are several enrollment periods for Medicare and the various gap plans.  Give us a call and we can help you through the maze.

Or if you would like an individual consultation to learn about Medicare options you can contact our Medicare specialist, Stacie McKenzie at 206-362-8770.
